Drive change!!!

My system is a dual boot Suse Linux 10.1 & WinXP. Earlier today I decided I wanted to change over to a SATA drive, so I used Norton Ghost to clone from my IDE to the new SATA drive. All went well during the Ghost copy but now when I try to boot Linux it fails because the system is looking for hda5, hda6 etc, but now the partitions are sda5, sda6. Is there any way I can repair this error without doing a complete install of Linux as there is a lot of data I don't want to lose. Yes I know the data is still on the old drive, but it would be a hassle to transfer it.

what distro are you using?

With slackware you would boot with a sata.i bootdisk, when you got into the system you would edit /etc/fstab to show the new paritions, then you would edit lilo, then run the lilo command and then reboot and it should work. The kernel also has to have support for the sata driver built in and not as a module
