I am trying to download CentOS 5.5 DVD from here.
I have tried it number of times, but after 20-25 mins it gives me an error that "source file cannot be read".
Has anyone else tried to download it from same link, although it is showing me 215 downloads.
Also, I would appreciate if someone else can provide alternate links (not torrents), I tried google-ing it, but couldn't found any DVD direct links.
You can try downloading it from here. There are very few sites that offer the DVD as download instead of the torrents because of the size. Downloading a DVD will take up quite some resources and time no the server side and that's why most sites don't offer them. It's quite normal that people use the torrents to download a DVD. Only one (the one listed above) out of four principal download sites here in Spain offers the DVD. You could also search through the other mirrors yourself to find one closer to you that offers the DVD.
I hope I can download file from here successfully.
And Erictra, I cannot download it from my home (from torrent) as I have download limit from my ISP. The internet speed in my office is awesome, thus was looking for downloading a DVD from office network
I had to create an account just so I could respond the previous thread. The mirrors at centos.org don't have the DVD. Please do not post a typical answer to a specific inquiry. Just read the question and make sure your answer at least helps in some way, or don't post it.
