downgrading kernel

Hi all

I need help down grading from 2.6 to 2.4

the reason is I want to run a openmosix kernel and have trouble finding 2.6 tools, i have a kernel but cant use it

so I am biting the bullet and down grading to 2.4

At this time I am using udev to build the device nodes but will I have to use/make anything diffrent for 2.4 plus I seem to have trouble compiling 2.4 kernel is this some thing to do with gcc or libc?

Many thanks

What problems? What error messages? How are you installing the kernel? At what point(s) do(es) it fail?

that's going to be hard
cant use udev so you have to make /dev directory with the old script
need old modutils pre module_init_tools
edit: forgot to say safest thing to do is build it with gcc 2.95
