Question DivX installation woes

I downloaded the divx codec from DivX.com and extracted the tar into my usr/local directory.

However, when I type in the install script

"./install.sh"

nothing happens. Is there something wrong with the script, or am I missing out on something?

Did you run ./install.sh as root?

you don't need it. most players, such as the best player ba=y FAR http://mplayerhq.hu has all the codecs with it.

Ok, I downloaded Xine and MPlayer, and they both work great. Thanks for all the help!
