Display Linux Redhat Version

I have a very noob question to ask.

How do I display the OS information in Linux. Primarily, for Redhat. I want to know the version of the OS and if it's Enterprise, etc.

Thanks

you can get the required information from /etc/redhat-release file...or if you need to know about kernel information then you can use uname command..

Enjoy..

Thanks a lot

It's showing me: Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 2)

I assume the Release number is the equivalent of the version number, correct?

Just want to double check before applying the new DST update:

Also, is there a similar command for Suse OS?
