I was having this issue with Fluxbox, put myself in deal with it mode. Later on switched to IceWM and I am seeing the same thing happening when I thought it was only a Flxubox thing.

When ever I have an terminal opened (ie. Terminator) in one desktop, switch to a different one then open another terminal (terminator) it opens one on that same desktop, but instead of staying there IceWM/Fluxbox jumps back to whichever desktop the other one is opened on.

I do not know what is causing this in order to try and stop it. Anyone got a similar problem and knows how to solve it?

In fluxbox, that would be done in the ~/.fluxbox/apps config file however in ICE it could be in /usr/local/share/icewm or globally in /etc/X11/icewm. Look in the section marked "winoptions" for a reference to "Terminator" or more generally "terminals"
