I don't believe there is a way to disable a laptop-keyboard without physically taking the screws out and pulling some wires out. What's wrong with the keyboard anyways?

its with some king of tilt from the begging of the boot until now... Its like the keyboard was bad connected you know... its printing [2~ all the time, this doesnt affect the GUI apps but when Im on the terminal it rights ~~~~~~~~~~~ all the time, its impossible to work this way... And I know that the keyboard of the notebook its like an PS2 or Serial keyboard it is on the xfree86 config...

but if I good remember the xfree only change configurations for the X and note for the shell...

but I cant use the term like I said so Its hard to find the xfree config file...

The XFree86Config file is located in /etc/X11/

EXAMPLE #1: pico /etc/X11/XF86Config
EXAMPLE #2: vi /etc/X11/XF86Config

Maybe you set the keyboard map wrong during install?

Sorry, I can't help you any further.

Googled it:

http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Keyboard-a...e-HOWTO-8.html

Maybe it might help. Look at the The SysRq key section.

I just want to make my notebooks keyboard unable tu send signal tu the OS, if the OS could ignore what comes from this keyboard and only accept the usb external keyboard would be good enough!

I suppose you could disable PS2 support in a new kernel, but this would also disable PS2 mouse/touchpad.

Can you get into the BIOS to see if you can disable the keyboard there?

There is no way to desable the keyboard in the bios, maybe chance some IRQ settings but this can make conflicts....

But the ideia of the new kernel is not bad, the problema will have to do everything out from the Console
