What are you talking about?
He asked about DC++ - the Direct Connect filesharing application - not a DHCP Daemon.

OP: I don't know of one, but if you find one please post it as I'm looking for the same.

EDIT: just found this http://www.softservice.com.pl/ldcc/

Hope you'll install that and let us know how it works. Been looking for the same thing myself. Not fussy about 'command line' myself.

I had some previous experience with that piece of software and i was stuck in the same point:

there are 3 components:

1. tvision - which is working ok. compiled it... no problems
2. ldcc ( LDCC is a linux console, text-based client for DIRECT CONNECT) which is sort of speak, the GUI althaugh it runs in text mode
3. dctc - Direct Connect Text Client - this is the one that gave me all the problems

at first i wasn't able to run the configuration script because i had no glib2 installed. when i checked glib2 was in fact installed on my system. after a bit of a fight i've managed tu run the configuration script corectlly. the next step: make

you can see the output for yourself:

<some more lines here...>
hublist.c:504: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
hublist.c: In function `display_bunzip2_list':
hublist.c:566: `gsize' undeclared (first use in this function)
hublist.c:566: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
hublist.c:566: for each function it appears in.)
hublist.c:566: parse error before "h_length"
hublist.c:569: `h_length' undeclared (first use in this function)
hublist.c: In function `process_bz2_hub_source':
hublist.c:729: called object is not a function
make[2]: *** [hublist.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/tran/DC linux/dctc/src'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tran/DC linux/dctc'
make: *** [all] Error 2

and now i'm stuck again
