Damaged Dvd Vs Great Encryption

Like most people these days, I like to backup my DVD's. I have been using DVDShrink through WINE to shrink the files, then burn them using K3B, this has worked great for me.

But about a week ago I came across a few DVD's that I could not backup. DVDShrink spits out something about Invalid DVD Structure. So I gave up on that DVD. Then I came across another one (Underworld Evolution). I started to think that maybe there was something else to it. After some research I found that certain DVD's have higher encryption and use all types of tricks to prevent the owner from copying it.

I discovered that several people have succesfully backed up this title with programs like DVD Decrypter, DVDFab Decrypter, AnyDVD etc...

Well I couldn't get AnyDVD to start and DVD Decrypter would stop with an error. DVDFab Decrypter seemed like it would take a day to copy so I canceled that. I then tried vobcopy, which was working fine, then at around the same point as DVD Decrypter, it just stops. So I'm wondering if maybe the DVD is damaged or I need to use a different program. Any suggestions would help, and yes, there is a scratch on the disc.

AnyDVD 5.9.6.1 works perfectly to back up every single type of proteccion including the ton within underworld evolution. You can use it to back up your dvds, just leave anydvd on and start the copy with any other programs, you do not need dvd decrypter, anydvd is doing the job, just do the copy and anydvd will work on the fly.

I tried AnyDVD with WINE but had no luck. A little pop up would come up to inform me that I had 21 days to try the program. After I would click on continue, it would go away but AnyDVD never opened. I checked my Performance Monitor to make sure it wasn't running, and it wasn't.
