crontab problems

Hi everyone. I have a problem using crontab. I used crontab to schedule some tasks. But i encountered a problem, when i tried to display the xclok every 2 minutes. the xclock didnt came out at all. Im using RHEL 4. this is my format in my crontab

*/2 * * * * /usr/X11R6/bin/xclock

Please help me with this. I need to apply this in one of my projects. Thanks in advance.

You could try replacing the */2 with 0,2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24,26,28,30,32,34,36,38,40,42,44,46,48,50,52,54,56,58

I know it seems weird, but I had to do this, and it worked. It wouldn't work the other way.

Did you put an empty line after the last line in crontab?

OK, after checking out the man page (man xclock) perhaps you need to specify which display to put the clock on, like: xclock :1 or xclock :6 or xclock :7
not sure what other flags may be needed, but try a few, see if that helps.
