Cron + MAILTO option

I use Fedora Core 2. I change the MAILTO otpion from MAILTO=root to MAILTO='my@address.com' and restarted the
cron daemon. The cronjob runs every minute. No emails. I tried MAILTO=my@address.com no emails.
Sendmail status is running. What is wrong here?

P.S my@address.com just an example. I used real email address.

You can also have root's email sent to a user. Would this help you at all?

Add/change a line in /etc/mail/aliases (on my system -ArchLinux- it's there anyway):

# Person who should get root's mail
root: username
