I have been able to install and use Azureus which amazes me b/c I can't get much to work in Linux...
but (and i'm probably doing this wrong) to get it to run i find to go into my Azureus folder and double click on the file named Azureus.
is there a way to create a desktop shortcut or a way to add it to the Kmenu? and it'd be pretty cool if i could use the .png file of the frog as the icon.
Yeah, there's a way. there should be some type of "right-click" option, which lets you add applications to the menu. In fact, I'm sure there is, because I used to use KDE, and you can do the same in GNOME. You can also add a .png for the file picture, because there will be an option which lets you find the .png. It will be in your azureus/ directory.
Try doing something such as right-clicking the KMenu, and it should be very easy to find from there.
Ok, in the middle of typing this message, I logged again, this time, using KDE. Just right click KMenu, and click on "configure menu" or "edit menu" or something to that effect. You can choose where to put the shortcut, under which panel, etc.
This is the thorough and complete way to accomplish adding the shortcut:
1. Right click on Kmenu.
2. Left click menu editor
3. Left click the plus sign next to internet
4. Left click on the word "Internet"
5. Left click "File"
6. Left click "New Item"
7. Type in "Azureus" for item name
8. Click OK
9. Look to the right, now you have a window to create Azureus in
10. Optional: Type in Description, "Torrent Manager" or any description you like.
11. Click on the blue folder to the right of command and take the same path as you've been using to open azureus:
/home/yourname/azureus/azureus (you can just click on the folders/files to get there)
12. Left click on what looks like a sht of paper right of name.
13. Left click "other icons", left click "browse"
14. Go to /home/your name/azureus and left click on azureus.png
15. Left click open and you will see the blue frog.
16. Left click on the little save icon uner "File"
17. Right click on the kicker menu at the bottom of your desktop (where all the shortcut icons are)
18. Left click "add to panel"
19. go to "application"
20. go to "internet"
21. left click on azureus
22. look now and you will see the azureus icon, left click on it
