Courier-Imap - file is needed but is in proper location

Hi everyone:

I'm trying to install Courier-IMAP and am having a devil of a time. It seems that every requirement for the program has, in itself, a number of other requirements.

I finally was able to do :
rpmbuild -ta courier-authlib-0.55*.tar.bz2
which gave me the following file in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386:

courier-authlib-0.55.20050407-1.2.i386.rpm

i run rpm -ivh courier-authlib-0.55*.rpm, and get the following error:

/usr/local/bin/expect is needed by courier-authlib-0.55.20050407-1.2

Now, expect is installed and the file "expect" is in the above location. I have no idea what is going wrong here. I would greatly appreciate some suggestions/solutions.

Thanks

PAB

Could be that RPM is looking for a specific version of expect and can't find it. Stuff like this is known as "RPM hell".

Try doing a
Code:
rpm -ihv --nodeps courier-authlib-0.55*.rpm
That should force the guy in. Now whether it'll work or not...
