Copy protected disc imaging?

Hi,

I want to make (preferably compressed) disc images of my older games. What can I use, that won't choke on the copy protection?

I've tried K3b on an original Call of Duty disc (Safedisc v3), with no luck. Even turning off error correction etc.

I don't think i need to copy the complete protection, as i'll be using No-CD patches etc. to avoid having to access the discs/ISO's when playing every time.

Thanks!

Nothing, and I doubt you'll get much help here. The LQ Rules specifically state that asking about such things isn't allowed. While these may be your discs, we have no way of knowing this.

Thread reported.

OK. Any idea where I *can* ask for help? It's an old copy protection that isn't even supported on Windows any more. Happy to post a pic of my discs lol

There are many ways to copy disks. Asking about the copy protection here is what is an issue.

Simply try different ways to do your backups and something may work. In many cases dd can create a disk image, but how that works for copy protected software I have no clue.

Most of this stuff is online someplace but as noted, LQ is not one of them. Sorry but I'll close thread.
