Converting from .wma to .mp3/.ogg

Hullo, fine people.

Does anybody know how this is done? I have a feeling that mencoder is probably the thing to use, but I can't make head nor tail of the vast tangle of options it has, and I can't find any GUIs that will encode audio only (they all want to do video).

I just want these nasty patenty files to go away so that I can listen to my music the way I want to, in the player I want to, on the OS I want to. I'm not really too fussy about the output's format, as long as it's more widely compatible than the input's.

Thanks,
NL

Oops, sorry

Thanks for the link, though, I'll give it a go

[edit]
A related problem I still have though is some .WMAs not decoding properly - I get a few pops and clicks (presumably tiny samples from the sound file) for a second or two, and then that's it. I've just updated to the latest win32codecs, but it didn't help

(And yes, I've searched for this but found nothing)
