In trying to install and get used to KDE Trinity, I find that there is a problem when having it installed simultaneously with KDE 3.5, but no problem having it in the distro simultaneously with KDE 4. When I install it on a distro containing KDE 3.5, I find that 3.5 and Trinity get mixed up. That is, when I start 3.5 at the session menu, 3.5 starts but displays most or all the unique characteristics of Trinity, such as Trinity desktop themes and wanting to sudo root-needing programs instead of asking for the root password. The only solution I can find is to get rid of Trinity; then KDE 3.5 goes back to normal.
This does not occur in KDE 4: I tried installing Trinity in a virtualbox installation of MEPIS 9 or 11, and it proved perfectly able to keep KDE 4 and Trinity separate.
Has anyone else observed this problem?
