Configuring wicd for WEP: Hex, Passphase or Shared/Restricted?
Hi,
Before anything, I am using Debian Lenny and I get the 1.6.2 version of wicd from the site.
My house's wireless is WEP. The passphrase is "saojosedoscampos2009" and this passphrase generate 4 keys: They are: "D7D854D71B", "D931E1594B", "98B7F9484A" and "E2EC4BE759".
My question is what I need to use in wicd WEP configuration: Hex, Passphase or Shared/Restricted? And what I need to use, the passphrase or the keys?
If I use the configuration WEP(Passphrase) "saojosedoscampos2009",
wicd shows "Obtaining IP address" but did not get any. Finaly it shows a pop-up saying "Connection Failed: Unable to Get IP address". Why wicd can not get one IP address?
If I use the configuration Wep (Shared/Restricted) "D7D854D71B", the same..
I think there is a problem to obtain the IP address.
dhclient is installed. If i do #dhclient ath0, it connects normally.
May be I need to install something more.
Any help will be appreciable.
Thanks.
