Post configuring VMware Workstation in SUSE 10.0

hi fellowz,
My problem is after installing vmware i try to configure the ethernet card of the host(SUSE 10.0) to ping my guest OS. I configured vmware to use eth0 and i gave the ethernet an address of 10.0.0.34/27, but the vmnet1 interface has an address of 172.16.11.1 . Now should i configure vmnet1 interface or eth0 of my Host machine.
