Compiz package in Debian unstable repositories

Has anyone got XGL to work in Debian in this forum? What good is the Compiz package alone without XGL in the Debian repositories?

I think you can get compiz running on Xorg 7.1 just by enabling the AIGLX module in xorg.conf. Compiz runs on both XGL and AIGLX.

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm looking to this weekend (I just installed Etch AMD64 and will be updating to Sid...).
