Cmus not launching

This mourning I was going to use cmus. Whenever I hit enter to play a song cmus freezed on me and I had to ctr+c to get out. I tried reinstalling the program multiple times using both pacman and yay with no success. I even used -Rscn to uninstall this program. Then I tried to remove the .config/cmus/cache file then reinstall it which did not work. After that i got rid of everything in .config/cmus and /usr/share/cmus, unfortunatly I only made a copy of my themes in /usr/share/cmus which was foolish of me. After reinstalling after this, cmus only goes down a line in my terminal and stops, as if you typed in echo but it did not continue until you hit ctr-c. Also, Pacman does not make the files in .config/cmus. I dont know if this is important but it was say there was /run/user/1000/cmus-socket when cmus wasnt running. I tried to research this issue on duckduckgo, looked through the cmus man page, and the arch wiki, which did not help with my problem. I also asked reddit and someone offered the idea that it was a problem with alsa. I tried to make a new rc file in .config/cmus which did not change my situation. I will be fine to post any information that you need. Thanks for listening.

I gather you are using Arch, since you mention pacman.

Frankly, I've not heard of cmus before. I do find it puzzling that there's no output, no even an error, to the command line. Have you looked in the log files for any references to cmus?

i tried yesterday.
cmus just hangs.
i haven't looked into it, but i assume it needs to be set up first.
i.e. read 'man cmus' and/or 'man cmus-tutorial' (how cool is that) and copy a config file to the appropriate location and edit it.

Sorry but cmus just started today for reasons I do not know. I just attempted to us it again after using nmcpp for a while, then I tried to launch cmus again and it worked. Thank you for your input though
