Clamlib error- Can't open directory

Using clamav and running clamscan, I get this output:

LibClamAV Error: cl_loaddbdir(): Can't open directory ▒/lib/clamav
ERROR: Unable to open file or directory

----------- SCAN SUMMARY -----------
Known viruses: 0
Scanned directories: 0
Scanned files: 0
Infected files: 0
Data scanned: 0.00 MB
I/O buffer size: 131072 bytes
Time: 0.002 sec (0 m 0 s)

Note the ▒ symbol. What does this mean? What directory can't it open?

Can anyone help out?
