cinelerra unstable in SUSE

Suse 10.3 and after a small amount of aggravation I got Cinelerra installed, with yast.

The program worked marginally and was unstable, but now is broken. A restart of the system doesn't seem to do anything. The prgram boots up with ony the time line viewable, and none of the buttons seem to work. None of the drop down menus work. I tried re-selecting the program in Yast andd doing a re-install. I'm not sure I did anything. The program is in the same state.

The live CD from dynebolic seems much more stable, the program works there, but I can't get kino to recognize the mini DV cam and digitize in that one.

Any suggestions about fixing it and making cinelerra more stable on my system?

TIA.

Ethan
