Chrome flickering video's on youtube

I've recently installed fedora 17 and every time I try to view video on youtube I get flickering yellow spots on the screen. The flickering doesn't affect the ad's that appear before the selected video.

I've tried using both stable and unstable version of chrome and both suffer from the problem. I've tried disabling hardware acceleration which also made no difference.

Any advice on fixing problem would be greatfuly appreciated.

There appears to be a bug report here. It was filed last April though so who knows if it's exactly the same issue.

Some of the solutions given include trying to:

Execute with --disable-accelerated-compositing switch; and
Enabling 'Override Software Rendering List' in chrome://flags

Perhaps someone else will be able to give you better help, but see if either or both of those work for you.

Sorry for not replying earlier.

In the end I decided to install Debian testing to see if that had the same problem. I found that the official chrome build still flickered so I tried to chromium instead which works great.
