Hi all. Is there any cd emulation software for linux? Something along the lines of alcohol/daemon tools but it doesnt need to be that complex. The main reason i need something like this is to be able to run cue/bin images and maybe iso etc. If there isnt any software like this has anyone got any suggestions on how to get around it?
iso's are cd images, and this is a real simple thing to do:
mount -o loop image.iso /mnt/point
simple as that. as for the more frilly cd images, you would normally convert them to iso files, e.g. use bin2iso to do the obvious... then do as above.
acid's suggestion should work for 99.999% of cases and would be better but here is another if you're in that minority that needs a physical device emulated for some reason.
