I am currently using the default cd burning package in Ubuntu/KDE called Brasero, but this seems really basic. Is there a Nero-type cd burner that will do even the basic stuff like take the gaps out between tracks for live cds etc. I have been only Neros web site and there is a version available for linux at £13 (bargain), but if there is a free option then this would be better.
If not then can someone tell me which option to download, either the RPM or DEB version and how do I install??
Did you try K3B ?; I don't know surely if there is package of it in the package manager of ubuntu, but I think there is one.
I hope that K3B do the things you want... I use it regularly and I like it.
Nero is also made for Linux too, but then you would need to pay for it. If you really want a Nero-like application, that would be the closest you could get.
Well the thing is, this isn't something the CD burner should be taking care of. The silence should be edited out with an audio editing program. At least that's the way I see it. If anything, K3b should be able to take care of it.
