i can get sound with the pre2 kernel, but not with a beta3 or 4 kernel. i enable the oss modules and the modules corresponding with my sound card and codecs i have. they all load with no errors, yet when i want to listen to something, i get no sound.
yes, i even maxxed them out...i did compile alsa in, but i got peaks with the equilizer bars, but again, no sound, and when i try to compile the alsa-drivers, i get errors
so, none of you 31337 linux h4x0rz have any clues or answers to solve my problem?? by the way, i got to compile the alsa drivers, and still no sound...anyone??
i knew that would get someone's attention. well, i submitted a bug report at bugs.gentoo.org and was told that i shouldn't have alsa-drivers and alsa in the kernel at the same time. hence, i have sound now. thank you though for the link, i will use it the next time i need it and no one seems to want to help here.
