can red hat nine be installed on SATA hard disk


I tried to install REDHAT 9 on sata hard disk. but it was said that hard disk cant be found. so what can i do. is there any newer version of REDHAT that can be installed on sata hard.

Don't even try to install Red Hat 9 again, it's old and unsupported now. Fedora Core is the free successor to Red Hat Linux, but there's also the commercial Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Fedora Core 2 didn't recognize my SATA disk, but FC4 and FC5 use it w/o any problem. Your drive may show up as /dev/sda, however, instead of /dev/hda
