Can I configure Linux to serve files over a USB cable?

I have a home theatre system which allows one to plug usb flash drives in and play MP3s off of them. I also have a server running Fedora 10 in the adjacent room which has all of my music on it. Has anyone tried to use a linux PC to mimic a usb drive? I'd like to connect the two with a cable through the drop celing and present to the stereo system some interface like a flash drive but serving files directly from the hard drive.

AFAIK it is not possible. You can not connect two USB controllers together. In addition with a normal USB cable the 5V power would be shorted which could possibly damage the computer and/or the theater system.
