Can GrSync / Rsync restore to different size partitions?

Does it make any sense to backup my current installation, only to resize the partitions?

Thanks

I do not use gsync. Rsync is simply a file/folder sync tool. It can sync almost anything in the way of files and folders as long as the room on the target is adequate to hold the transfer.

It pays attention to paths, rsync does not detect partitions.
