Hello there, I'm installing cairo 1.6.4 to my ubuntu because it is a requirement so that I can install gtk+. My problem is, while executing ./configure, it gives me this reply
Code:
configure: error: Request PNG backend could not be enabled
libpng is just the runtime files. You'll need to install libpng12-dev (I think that's what it's called on Ubuntu) to get the development files. You need the development files to build cairo against libpng and, IIRC, libpng is a required dependency.

rename direcotry of libpng-version to libpng
$mv -R libpng-version/ libpng/
