Bugzilla: how do I configure one "urlbase" that works internally and externally?

Hi -

I have Bugzillla 3.6 running on Linux, with a Windows 2008 server for our internal DNS.

PROBLEM:
I need to set Bugzilla's urlbase" so the SAME configuration will work for INTERNAL clients as well as EXTERNAL clients

EXAMPLE:
* urlbase=http://bugs.mycompany.com/bugzilla

* External access:
http://bugs.mycompany.com/bugzilla (xx.yy.zzz.nn)
<= Everything works OK

* Internal access (Windows DNS)
http://bugs/bugzilla (192.168.1.200)
<= Reaches initial page, then barfs trying to access remote address "bugs.mycompany.com" - because the host is actually inside our firewall

* WORKAROUND:
Hack c:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on the
client PC:

Code:
192.168.1.200 http://bugs.mycompany.com
Q: Any alternatives to this (unacceptable) workaround?

That's DNS issue. With bind, you can use views, so depending your origin, you can define an internal and an external address for the same name. But that's not a bugzilla issue, but any web app that has to be accessed from both intranet and internet.

AFAIK, and OT here, windows DNS doesn't support views nor anything similar.

Hi -

"Views" are not an option - Windows DNS does not support them (for arguably good reasons).

Q: It seems that urlbase requires a fully qualified domain name (e.g. bugs.mycompany.com).

I absolutely cannot use one FQDN for both external clients (bugs.mycompany.com) and internal clients (bugs.mycompany.local).

Is there ANY "one size fits all" option for Bugzilla's "url_base"??????????????
