bootsplash themes


im running gentoo 2005.0 and i fially got bootsplash working so i decided to try some different themes. i emerge bootsplash-themes or whatever it is and wheneve ri try a new one when i boot up it shows me the background of the new one i chose for a while but when the progress bar starts it goes back to the old one. does anyone know whats goin on?

I just can tell you i tried many times with bootsplash, but then i switched to splashutils because (if i'm right) it's newer and, on my machine, it works very good (and maybe it's a little easier to use )

Yes. There's a utility, bootsplash2fbsplash (if i'm not wrong -- but splashutils will tell you how it's called), wich let you converse bootsplash themes to splashutils themes. Actually it's what i did....
