Booting a livecd on an intel mac

Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to boot a live cd (backtrack in this case) on an intel mac just like I will do on a pc.
I know macs got EFI and pcs got BIOS, will it cause any problems?

Presumably it should work, as long as machine is set up to boot from the CD ahead of the hard drive. What happens when you try it?
