bluefish apt-get source

I want to install the latest version of bluefish which is .13 and only .12 is in sarge.

I found these sources.

deb http://www.tu-harburg.de/~vkv/bluefish/i386 ./
deb-src http://www.tu-harburg.de/~vkv/bluefish/source ./

but, when I do apt-get install bluefish it says:

The following NEW packages will be installed:
bonobo-activation libbonobo-activation4 liblinc1
The following packages will be upgraded:
bluefish
1 upgraded, 3 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

Is it ok to install these packages: bonobo-activation libbonobo-activation4 liblinc1 ?

What is bonobo-activation? Is it safe to download bluefish from here?

Thanks

These extra packages are to do with Gnome, and Bluefish needs them to run. So without them your not going to get the latest version.

Make sure the external repositry is set for testing, and not SID. Also the more un-official repositries you add the less stable your system will be. If its the only one ( or you have say two completley unrelated ), then theres usually not a problem.

Safe is a relative term. Do you feel safe about the mirror you are installing from? If you do, then proceed with the install.

linc is a library that eases the task of writing networked servers & clients. It takes care of connection initiation and maintenance, and the details of various transports. It is used by ORBit2 to handle message transmission/receipt.

bonobo-activation and libbonobo-activation4 contain the copyright text files of bonobo. Bonobo is a set of language and system independent CORBA interfaces for creating reusable components, controls and creating compound documents.

Thanks, I have another unofficial one to gimp too.

These are the only unofficial ones I have. The others are the debian ones. Oh and I am using testing

#Gimp
deb http://mars.iti.pk.edu.pl/~jakub/dist/sarge ./

#Bluefish
deb http://www.tu-harburg.de/~vkv/bluefish/i386 ./
deb-src http://www.tu-harburg.de/~vkv/bluefish/source ./

Would it be worth it to install the newer one or just wait? If that mirror makes the system unstable I won't do it. It is only installing bluefish though so it can't be a big deal.

My advice would be to wait.

YOu could always use the unstable distro if you like the newest things. Gimp is at 2 in unstable already ( Bluefish is at .12, but it can't be long in going to.13 ).

If you like to keep most things at testing you could always use a mixed system ( The apt-howto in debian has the details ).
