.bin files?


I have just dowloaded limewire, and have got a file witha .bin extension, I am a newbie to linux, and never have come accross this type of file.

how do I install it? I am using mandrake 9.1

ok, I found the answer on the limewire site, but now I have another question

google helps again! I have downloaded "kaffe" but when running the ./configure command I get this message

it's on your CD
And bin is an cd-image format btw, you don' need java for that.

why did it ask me for java then? should I burn the file to a cd?

which cd is GCC on? CD 3?

Go to your software installer in the Mandrake control center. Search for GCC. Select it when it finds it, hit install, and it will ask for the correct cd.

it seems like I need to intsall java, I have found very clear instructions here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=18536
