.bin and .tar.gz stuff for HLDS server

Hey guys I'm confused. I'm followin instructions from counter-server and it sez to use the command tar zxvf hlds_1_3110_full.tar.gz problem is it isnt .tar.gz its a .bin so im in a rut. plz help me out here folks

.bin files are usually already precompiled. Just make sure its executable and then just run the file from a command prompt.

chmod +x filename.bin ( to make it executable )

filename.bin ( to start the installation of it )

allright bear with me here... I typed exactly this:
chmod +x hlds_1_3110_full.bin

and it sed
[root@ip68-98-167-117 halflife]# chmod +x hlds_1_3110_full.bin
chmod: failed to get attributes of `hlds_1_3110_full.bin': No such file or directory

so plz hlp me out here im sorry for bein such a noob = )

Try a chmod 777 hlds_1_3110_full.bin
