Batch download

Is there any software that allows you batch download videos.
The reason i ask is that i want to batch download videos from
the TED website instead of individually clicking on each video.

Download the page that contains the links, write a script that extracts the URIs of all the videos you want then fetches them with snarf or curl or wget or whatever command-line http client you like.

However, since that might put a burden on the TED website, have you ever thought to contact them and see if they have other ways to put the videos into your hands? Recordable DVDs, for instance?
