Backup software from harddrive to USB drive

Hello: Can anyone recommend some good software that I can use for backing up data on my hard drive to a USB drive? This would be applicable to any of the Linux distro's I use which include Mandrake, Mepis, Linspire and Susi. Thank you very much. james91911
