backing up files remotely using a script

Guys,

I want to backup a directory from a remote PC and I want to have a directory of the date and will automatically deleted after the 15th day. Is this possible? For example i want to have these directories on my system:

/backup/10-12-05/test.tar
/backup/10-13-05/test.tar
/backup/10-14-05/test.tar

and after the 15th day, the directory will be deleted automatically.

Can someone help me on this? I really need it to work.

You can use one cronjob to get the files using whatever protocol you wish (I would reccomend rsync (man rsync for details, or see this page)) and another to delete the directory every 15 days.

Also, check this out: Search results
