Background image in mrxvt

I have been trying to set the background image in mrxvt, but am having a problem.

If I call mrxvt with the command option:

Code:
mrxvt -pixmap /home/tj/SlackSplash_small.jpg
It works fine, but if I try to then do it from the .mrxvtrc file, with the line:

Code:
mrxvt.pixmap: /home/tj/SlackSplash_small.jpg
It doesn't do anything. The rest of the settings in the mrxvtrc file work fine, but the pixmap line refuses to work.

Anyone know what could be wrong?
