Audacity wave trace abnormality

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a software problem; I want to record a line-in source Using the Audacity program. but the wave trace in the app is not symmetrical about the zero axis. This is not what I would have expected and I wonder if it will show up as poor quality recordings when I transfer to my hifi.

Check under effects | plugins 16-30 | DC offset removal.
