aterm/eterm problem with mouse

Im not sure if this is something trivial or not.

when i start an eterm or an aterm with -fg or -bg options, it works fine, but when i scroll my pointer over it, the pointer image changes to the default X pointer or a resize pointer or something that it shouldn't be. this doesn't go away until i enter another window with the pointer.

What's going on?
