artswrapper????


Everytime I logon I get a message telling me

"you need to run artswrapper as root or setuid root"

what does this mean

it's complaining because the arts thing cannot run with real-time scheduling which can cause hickups in the sound playback. Open a terminal window, become root using su. Find where artswrapper is:
whereis artswrapper
go to the directory where artswrapper is and then
chmod +s artswrapper
login again and you'll stop getting that message.
