apt-get errors E: Couldn't find package

I am running Fedora Core and its been running really well!!!!! I was using xmms the other day and got carried away downloading visualization plugins. I downloaded xmms_goom-1.99.4-installer-x86.sh and execute permissions and ran it. No error message came up but since then I cannot seem to get xmms to run at all. Everytime I try I get segmentation fault. I decided to use apt-get and remove xmms so that I could start again, just incase this was the problem. When I run apt-get i get the following error

Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package xmms_goom-1.99.4-installer-x86.sh

I have checked the apt-get documentation but can't figure out what to do, can any please help?????

that means that there isn't a package called xmms_goom-1.99.4-installer-x86.sh, which sounds about right.

whatever xmms_goom-1.99.4-installer-x86.sh installed, if it did install it under apt, it didn't call it by that name, and therefore cannot be removed under that name, so you need to find the right package name (if it exists, which isn't all that likely) and remove that, not the install script.

read through the install script, and see if there's an uninstall flag (make uninstall?).

if it did install it under apt, get a list of installed packages and remove whatever it called it (under Debian, this'd be done with `dpkg -l | grep xmms`, no idea abotu RH)
