I am new user of linux my old computer was on its way out and I was given a machine which had windows xp on it but it kept crashing so I said to friend I won't to try linx he installed linux mint on it and I am impressed not only by the speed of everything but the vast range of free software.
I picked it up on Wednesday evening and am still trying things.
When I computers you had to know some dos.
I think now want to try using the terminal but ma taking it slow and easy.
I have two questions I hope I can get help with.
First I do a lot of typing but am wondering if there is something similar to Dragon speaking in linix.
Second I do go to second life anyine got any idea of any progroames for this function.

As for the questions:
1. Voice: I don't use such programs, but you can try CVoiceControl, simon, GnomeVoiceControl
2. Second life: I tried it some time ago and it "just" works. You just need to download the Linux version of their app.
Speech recognition on Linux doesn't appear to be as advanced as on other platforms. There seem to be several projects but they reportedly aren't as good as Dragon Naturally Speaking. Here is a link with more information. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speech_...ition_in_Linux
