Question apollon ./configure error (X includes)

RedHat9/KDE 3.1
I am trying to get Apollon to run but when I run ./configure I get:

Checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!

I read the man page.. It says:
For packages that use the X Window System, `configure' can usually
find the X include and library files automatically, but if it doesn't,
you can use the `configure' options `--x-includes=DIR' and
`--x-libraries=DIR' to specify their locations.

But where are the DIR's?
(I feel like I should know this)

i dont know if it is the same on your machine but you can check:
/usr/X11R6/include/X11
and if you don't end up finding them your going to have to install the xfree86 devel package.

OK cool... I did a:
./configure --x-includes=/usr/X11R6/include/X11 --x-libraries=/usr/X11R6/lib
and it worked BUT I got another error:

configure: error: We need a working libXext to proceed. Since configure
can't find it itself, we stop here assuming that make wouldn't find
them either.

I did a google search for libXext and found an RPM for RH9... I tried to install it but the system says its already installed.

Hmmm..

Follow the instructions in this thread:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...threadid=71306

It is the same problem. You're going to be looking for the part about making symlinks (ln -s ...). That should probably fix it. Also, when you try compiling again, remove config.cache and run configure again.
