Hi,
I am trying to compile apache version 2.0.52 on my solaris box and got the below error.
checking for chosen layout... apr
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... cc
checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.
configure failed for srclib/apr
could not get any info from config.log.
Can someone please help.
That means the configure script cannot find gcc. If the box runs Solaris 10, then gcc is installed in /usr/sfw/bin. So add this directory along with /usr/ccs/bin in your PATH. If you don't have gcc you can get it from sunfreeware, along with its dependencies (it installs in /usr/local/bin).
You'll be hardpressed to get it work work with Sun's compiler. It would be better to go over to http://www.sunfreeware.com/ and download the correct package for your system.
