Apache alias' getting an 403 Forbid error!

My server's default html directory is "/var/www/html' but I want to post my /home/flash section up there so I can type 'www.mydomain.com/flash' and there it'll be... Easy right? So I go into my apache.conf and I add

Alias /flash/ /home/flash/

But when I type 'www.mydomain.com/flash/' I get...

'Forbidden You don't have permission to access /flash/ on this server.'

I have tried chmod's 755 775 and 777 but still haven't got it to work? Can anyone help me?

Thanks
-Andy

By default, the Apache configuration is set up to only allow access to files and directories under the DocumentRoot. You need to add another <Directory> section to specify the access rules for your /home/flash directory, like this:

<Directory /home/flash>
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>

You can, of course, put any other restrictions you want on that directory in there.
