anyone know how to use plucker??

Hello,
I need help setting up the program Plucker which is a desktop application in linux that allows me to store webpage content (offline HTML) and view it on my palm device. how do I get this working? for those who dont know plucker is a program that works similar to Avantgo.

I use Ubuntu Feisty fawn and the palm device that I have is a Palm TX.

also if anyone knows of a program that does the same job as Plucker let me know and I will be happy to use that instead.

here is the webpage:

Apparently Plucker needs Python or Java, so install one of those two first. Then download the package related to your distribution. If there is no package for your distribution download the tarball. As the download page states it contains everything *and* the installation instructions. Read the installation instructions, try to install it, *then* post any problems you encounter.

Ok,
I have the software installed on my computer. Now my question is how do I get plucker installed on my handheld and setup so that I can upload pages to it.
I opened up the terminal typed plucker-desktop. The software ran and then I began the setup for my PDA, I chose USB and it defaults to pilot-xfer. I clicked next but plucker said this in the terminal window:

Code:
Unable to determine port to bind
Please use --help for more information
I dont know why it says this. If this helps, I frequently sync my PDA using both j-pilot and k-pilot and dont have any problems. Can you tell me what I should do?

It's in the documentation that came with the tarball or on the Plucker website, so you should read those and understand what's meant with "conduit", "parser" and the other thing.

Apparently somebody developed a Jpilot plugin, see this: http://www.mail-archive.com/plucker-.../msg04615.html. I think you best get on the Plucker mailing list if you encounter problems with that.
