You have to install wine package in your Linux flavor. Then after installing you can use/install/uninstall windows related applications, for more information check www.winehq.com
Hello All
Is it possible to run ".exe" file on Linux same as that of Windows?
Generally speaking: no. The binary format in Windows differs from the one(s) used in Linux.
But yes, check wine. They have an application database at their site (winehq.org) which might help you in setting up your application to work correctly with wine. Whether you will have (any) success or not will depend on the concrete application, mainly.
ps. Another alternative is virtualization. You can use any VM (virtualbox, vmware, qemu, bochs, etc.) to install a complete Windows OS inside the VM, then just run your Windows applications inside that virtualized OS.
depends. there are different types of .EXEs. Different versions of Windows can run some of them sometimes. EXE is a generic binary format, which is compiled into machine code base on some higher level code. Machine code varies by computer architecture, as in IA32, IA64, (MIPS,8080,A4,PPCv5) etc... I will assume though you are talking about 32bit binary for Windows, which means that it has internal references which allow interaction with the control program, win32 in this case. Wine will allow a good portion of implementation of this. If you are talking about maybe a dos program, probably 16bit (32bit is also possible), DosBOX might be of help. You could also try Virtualization of the Host you want, such as virtualbox, which allows for quite seemless integration.
